I'll start by saying I disagree that this leans masculine. I'm a woman, and, at least on my skin, it leans feminine. The lavender isn't masculine or herbal like most masculine leaning fragrances. My hubby has Spicebomb and this is not similar to that IMO.

On me, it opens freshly with just a tiny smidge of spice (resembling Mon Guerlain) with a fluffy and sweet lavender. After about 5 minutes the freshness starts to fade and the smokiness comes through. The lavender lives through the entire evolution of this and it is quite addictive! It's an absolute powerhouse, I only need 2 sprays and I'm a chronic over-sprayer! It lasts a good 10-12 hours on my skin. This is perfect for cooler weather. It's a fluffy sweet lavender with a hint smoke scent.

I personally find YSL Libre and Libre Intense more masculine leaning than this!

I've always leaned towards "traditionally feminine" fragrances and still do, but have dabbled a bit in the unisex world. That being said, I still prefer those that lean feminine and was so happy that this does just that! Online there are a lot of reviews drawing a comparison to V&R Spicebomb and on my skin, I wholly disagree! My hubby has that and Rehab isn't close. I will say that that this isn't a safe blind buy for a full bottle, but a sample or travel size here is %100 worth it.

Skin chemistry seems to be a very big factor on Initio fragrances. On my skin, it opens a little fresh, slightly spicy (think Mon Guerlain) with a sweet and fluffy lavender. As it dries down, the spice dissipates and I'm left with a creamy, slightly woody, sweet full-on cooler weather fragrance. On me, the lavender sticks throughout and I'm so happy about that. It's very much an MG or Lush Sleepy lavender, it's sweet. Not at all herbaceous or medicinal. This is a powerhouse, you don't need much. My skin usually eats fragrances but this sticks with me a good 8 to 10 hours and on clothes until they're laundered. Get a sample, see what all the fuss is about!
